PP2 Graduation Ceremony 2025: A New Beginning at La Salle Catholic School
Arrival — A Hall Filled With Expectation
From 1:30 p.m., families slowly filled the school dining hall. The room carried a cheerful hum — parents greeting one another, teachers straightening a child’s collar, the occasional shy wave exchanged between friends. The PP2 learners stood a little taller than usual, aware that today they were not just pupils — they were graduands.
It was a moment of anticipation, but also quiet realization:
They are growing, and everyone in the room could feel it.
Holy Mass — A Blessing for the Journey Ahead
At 2:00 p.m., the hall fell into reverent stillness as Fr. John Thuiya led the celebration of Holy Mass. The liturgy reminded everyone that learning does not unfold in the classroom alone — it unfolds in character, in humility, in gratitude, and in love.
The Homily
During the homily, Fr. John spoke directly to the parents and teachers: that guiding a child is not merely about academic achievement, but about shaping a heart that knows kindness, respect, discipline, and faith.
He reminded the learners that as they step into Grade 1, they are not stepping alone — God walks with them, just as those who love them do.
The Blessing of the Graduates and their Parents
In a tender and symbolic moment, PP2 learners were invited forward with their parents.
The priest extended his hands and offered a special blessing over the children — for courage, confidence, and continued growth — and over the parents — for patience, strength, and joy in the journey of raising them.
This quiet moment carried more weight than applause ever could.
It was the passing of grace into the next chapter
PP2 Skit, Song & Poem — The Voice of Emerging Confidence
Following the Mass, the PP2 learners stepped forward to present their skit, poem, and graduation song.
The skit highlighted the simple but meaningful lessons learned throughout the year: taking turns, listening, sharing, and showing respect.
The poem echoed the sentiment that children grow quietly — through daily routines, gentle corrections, and countless small triumphs.
And then the graduation song rose in soft, hopeful voices — steady, proud, slightly nervous, but undeniably confident.
These performances were evidence of growth that is not measured by exams:
Growth in courage, expression, memory, and presence.
Presentation of Certificates & Gifts — A Moment of Recognition
One by one, the children stepped forward to receive their certificates and gifts, supported by the School Director, Principal, Guest of Honour, and Head of Section.
No one rushed.
Every learner had a moment.
Every parent had the chance to see their child recognized for effort, progress, and perseverance.
Many parents leaned forward in their seats — phones in hand — but more importantly, hearts full.
It is one thing to know your child is growing.
It is another thing to see it happen in real time.
Commissioning of the Graduands — Into Grade One With Confidence
The commissioning was not merely ceremonial.
It affirmed that the PP2 learners are ready — academically, emotionally, and socially — to step into a new stage of structured learning.
The words of commissioning were spoken slowly and clearly, inviting learners to:
be curious,
be kind,
ask questions,
and believe in themselves.
It was a gentle, dignified sending forth:
You are ready. Go forward. Grow.
Vote of Thanks — Gratitude Shared, Not Performed
The PP2 Class Parent delivered the Vote of Thanks with sincerity.
They acknowledged teachers who encouraged even on difficult days, parents who supported learning at home, leadership that guided the school’s direction, and the learners themselves — who showed resilience and growth each day.
This was not a routine thank you.
It recognized the shared responsibility of raising and educating a child.
Cutting of the Cake — A Sweet Celebration of Achievement
The atmosphere lightened as everyone gathered for the cake cutting. PP2 teachers, parents, and the school director stood together around the cake — an image of partnership.
Laughter and applause filled the room as the first slice was made, and the children beamed with excitement.
It was symbolic, yes — but also joyful.
A shared sweetness to mark a shared milestone.
Closing Note
The PP2 Graduation Ceremony was not the closing of a journey.
It was the opening of a new chapter — one filled with greater responsibility, curiosity, and discovery.
To the PP2 Class of 2025:
Walk into Grade 1 with confidence.
Ask questions.
Try bravely.
Grow daily.
We are proud of who you are becoming.
Your next adventure begins now.
