We are pleased to share the latest updates as we conclude the second term of the 2024 academic year. This newsletter highlights the exciting activities, achievements, and important dates ahead for La Salle Catholic School.

Term 2 Opening Date

We are delighted to inform you that Term 3 will commence on Tuesday, 27th August 2024. We look forward to welcoming back our learners and continuing to nurture their academic and personal growth.

Highlights from Term 2, 2024

  • Saint John De La Salle Declared Patron Saint
    On 8th June 2024, His Grace, Philip Arnold Subira Anyolo, Archbishop of Nairobi, officially declared Saint John Baptist De La Salle the Patron Saint of all Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Nairobi during the Teachers’ Day celebration.

  • Scouts Trip to Mombasa
    From 6th to 10th August 2024, our Scouts embarked on an enriching trip to the coastal region, visiting Fort Jesus, Haller Park, Nyali Beach, and Shimoni Caves. The trip fostered teamwork, independence, and physical well-being.

  • Founder’s Day Celebration
    On 15th May 2024, we celebrated Founder’s Day in honor of Saint John Baptist De La Salle. The event was graced by Archbishop Philip Arnold Subira Anyolo, reinforcing our commitment to Lasallian values.

  • Sharing Day
    Our Sharing Day focused on building a strong sense of community among learners, encouraging compassion and togetherness through various engaging activities.

  • Charity Activity
    On 1st August 2024, we extended our love and support to the Little Sisters of the Poor in Kasarani. We thank all parents and guardians for their generous contributions toward our charity initiatives.

  • Inter-school Soccer and Basketball Tournament
    La Salle Catholic School emerged victorious in the Under 7, 11, and 14 boys’ soccer categories and secured the second position in basketball during the inter-school tournament. Congratulations to all our talented athletes!

  • Academic Clinics
    We successfully held academic clinics and one-on-one sessions for parents and teachers, focusing on learners’ academic progress, character development, and strategies for improvement.

  • School Outings
    Learners in Grades 6, 7, and 8 enjoyed exciting outings in June and July 2024, engaging in activities that enhanced creativity, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

  • National Read Aloud Day
    On 12th July 2024, our learners participated in the National Read Aloud Day, reading Kiswahili excerpts from Kijiji Cha Ukame by Dr. Hamisi Babusa, promoting literacy and climate change awareness.

  • Educators’ AI Training Workshop
    On 20th June 2024, our educators underwent virtual training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration in education, led by William Clyde, a Lasallian educator and professor at Manhattan College.
