β½πββοΈ Sports Day 2025: A Day of Colour, Unity and Excellence at La Salle Catholic School
At La Salle Catholic School, Sports Day is more than just a day marked on the school calendar β it is a vibrant tradition that embodies who we are: a community dedicated to nurturing the minds, bodies, and hearts of our learners.
Every Term Two, our entire school family β from the curious young faces of Kindergarten to the energetic students of Junior School β gathers on our sports grounds to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and joy that defines our La Salle community.
The 2025 Edition, held on 24th June 2025, was a true testament to our theme:
βExcellence, Unity, and Discipline through Sports.β
π A Grand Opening: Coming Together as One School Family
As the early morning sun rose over our school grounds, the campus came alive with energy and colour. Learners, teachers, and invited guests assembled by 8:00 AM, ready for the day ahead.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was the match past by our four spirited houses:
π΄ Red House
π‘ Yellow House
π£ Purple House
π΅ Blue House
With coordinated steps, house banners flying proudly and cheers filling the air, learners showcased discipline and house pride, setting the tone for the day.
Following this, the entire assembly joined together for the National Anthem, an opening prayer and blessing, and heartfelt welcoming words from our Sports Master/Mistress, Head Teacher, and the Director, who officially declared the games open.

πββοΈ A Celebration of Talents: From Races to Relays
Sports Day 2025 was thoughtfully planned to cater to every learnerβs strength and interest, blending competitive races with fun novelty activities.
On the track, our young athletes displayed incredible dedication and sportsmanship in classic events like:
100M & 200M sprints
400M & 800M races
4 x 100M relays that had houses cheering loudly with every baton pass
For many learners, these races were moments to shine individually, while the relays highlighted the value of teamwork and trust.
π Games that Bring Smiles and Laughter

To balance the serious athletic events, the programme included creative and light-hearted competitions that everyone enjoyed:
The potato race, sack race, and tyre race, which combined agility, balance, and lots of laughter
Balloon bursting and balloon train sprints that kept the youngest learners engaged and excited
Letter and number picking, word-making (virtues) and marble games, which added a playful academic twist to the day
Musical chairs and the deliciously messy icing sugar race, always a favourite for participants and spectators alike
These activities reminded everyone that Sports Day isnβt just about who finishes first β itβs about the joy of participation, encouraging each learner to step forward with confidence.
πͺ Strength, Teamwork and Fun Beyond the Learners
Sports Day at La Salle isnβt only for students. The crowd cheered loudly for the much-anticipated:
Tug of War (Teachers), where staff showcased teamwork and humour
Staff fun race, which added laughter and built even greater bonds between learners and teachers
These moments not only entertained but also demonstrated the sense of unity that makes La Salle Catholic School truly special.
π Closing Ceremony: Recognizing Effort and Celebrating Together
As the sun approached its peak, the entire school gathered for the closing ceremony, a moment of reflection and recognition.
House points were tallied, and there was excitement in the air as medals and trophies were awarded to the dayβs champions. But more importantly, each learner left feeling proud of their effort and contribution, whether they stood on the podium or cheered their peers from the sidelines.
The School PrincipalΒ closed the event with words that encouraged learners to take the values learned β discipline, teamwork, perseverance and respect β beyond the sports field into everyday life.
The day ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem and a final blessing, before everyone bid each other goodbye, already looking forward to the next Sports Day.
