Grade 9 Educational Trip to Gravity CBC Centre

On 7th February 2025, the Grade 9 students of La Salle Catholic School embarked on an exciting and educational field trip to Gravity CBC Centre. This trip was carefully planned to expose students to practical learning experiences that complement their academic studies. The visit provided a holistic approach to education, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.

A Journey of Exploration and Learning

The day began with an early departure from school, filled with excitement and anticipation. Upon arrival at Gravity CBC Centre, the students and teachers were warmly received by the facility’s guides, who provided a detailed orientation session. The introduction highlighted the centre’s mission to provide interactive, career-focused learning experiences that prepare students for future career paths.

Students were then divided into groups and guided through various learning zones, each offering valuable insights into different fields of study. They explored:

  • Art & Music Studios – A space where creativity flourishes, inspiring students interested in fine arts, design, and music.
  • Home Science Department – A practical setup that demonstrated skills essential for daily life and career development in culinary arts, nutrition, and home management.
  • Career Guidance and Skill Development Section – This area provided students with an understanding of various professional fields, helping them align their academic interests with future career possibilities.

The exposure to these diverse subjects allowed students to broaden their perspectives on education and career choices. They learned that academic subjects are not just theoretical concepts but essential tools that shape real-world professions.

Understanding Gravity in Action

A major highlight of the trip was the gravity-themed amusement park, where students had the opportunity to experience physics concepts firsthand. From thrilling rides to engaging demonstrations, the students observed and felt the effects of gravitational forces, acceleration, and motion, concepts they had previously studied in physics lessons.

Through these activities, students grasped key scientific principles in a practical and interactive manner, making the learning process more engaging and memorable. They saw how gravity influences motion and structure design, giving them a newfound appreciation for science and engineering.

Key Takeaways from the Trip

The visit to Gravity CBC Centre was more than just an excursion—it was a transformative educational experience. It reinforced the importance of experiential learning, showing students how their studies connect to real-world applications.

Some key lessons students took away from the trip include:

  • The value of hands-on learning – Seeing, touching, and experiencing concepts enhances understanding and retention.
  • Career inspiration – Exposure to different subjects and professions sparked new interests among students.
  • Collaboration and teamwork – Students worked together in activities, strengthening their communication and problem-solving skills.
  • The fun side of learning – Education extends beyond textbooks, and engaging experiences make learning enjoyable.

After an insightful morning of learning, the students enjoyed a well-deserved lunch break, where they shared their reflections on the day’s experiences. From 2:00 PM onwards, the group transitioned to a more relaxed and fun-filled session with various recreational activities. The Gravity CBC Centre offers a range of thrilling rides, and students had the opportunity to experience them firsthand. Whether it was testing their courage on the gravity-defying swings or enjoying the high-speed roller coaster, excitement and laughter filled the air.

As we look ahead, we are excited to plan more educational excursions that continue to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and career exploration. Our Grade 9 students will surely carry the lessons from this trip forward, applying them in their academic journey and beyond.
