Celebrating Francophonie Day at La Salle Catholic School

On March 20, 2025, La Salle Catholic School, Karen, proudly joined the global Francophonie Day celebrations, embracing the beauty and diversity of the French language and culture. The event was a vibrant showcase of talent, unity, and linguistic appreciation, bringing together students and teachers in an immersive Francophone experience.


 

A Colorful Celebration

The school assembly ground transformed into a lively Francophone hub, adorned with banners and flags in the symbolic blue, white, and red—colors representing our deep connection to the French-speaking world. Both students and teachers embraced the theme by dressing in these colors, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Showcasing Student Talent

The highlight of the celebration was the impressive performances by our students, who showcased their growing proficiency in French through various artistic expressions:

🎶 Songs: Students from different grade levels performed French songs, blending traditional and contemporary Francophone music.


 

📜 Poetry Recitations: Learners confidently recited French poems, demonstrating their creativity and appreciation for the language.
🎭 Drama: The Grade 5 class presented a short play, Ma famille, depicting a lively interaction within a French-speaking family.
💃 Dance: Traditional Francophone dances brought an energetic and entertaining touch to the event, captivating the audience.

Teacher Participation & Impact

Our dedicated teachers actively engaged in the celebration, wearing Francophone colors, cheering on students, and even taking part in performances. Their involvement reinforced the significance of learning French and helped create a more enriching experience for everyone.
