Celebrating Excellence: La Salle at WSC Nairobi 2025
The World Scholars Cup (WSC) Nairobi Regional Round 2025 was an exhilarating experience for our La Salle Catholic School delegation. This year, our school proudly registered a team of 123 members, consisting of 111 scholars and 12 dedicated teachers who played a key role in guiding and mentoring our students throughout the competition.
The curtains fell on this noble academic contest on the evening of Friday, February 21, 2025, marking the end of an intense and intellectually stimulating journey. However, the Lasallian courage, resilience, and commitment displayed throughout the event yielded tremendous success and outstanding results.
Unmatched Achievements – A Legacy of Excellence
🌟 Global Round Qualifiers: Out of 37 competing teams, an impressive 31 teams from La Salle qualified for the World Scholars Cup Global Round, meaning that 93 out of our 111 students advanced to the next level. This translates to an exceptional 87.78% qualification rate, a remarkable testament to their hard work and determination.
🏆 Individual Excellence and Standout Performances:
- Kayla Lucille emerged as the 2nd best overall scholar among over 3,000 participants, a phenomenal achievement that places her among the brightest young minds in the competition.
- Valerie Makena and Ethan Muigai ranked among the top 10 scholars overall, showcasing incredible academic and debating prowess.
- Lucille Kayla and Valerie Makena earned prestigious WSC trophies in recognition of their outstanding performances in various categories.

🎭 Scholars Talent Show – A Showcase of Creativity
Beyond academics, our students also shone in the Scholars Talent Show, where they displayed their unique talents and creative skills. Their performances captivated the audience and showcased the diverse abilities that define our well-rounded Lasallian scholars.
🗣️ Debate Showcase – Raising the Bar
Among the most prestigious segments of the competition is the Debate Showcase, which features the best debaters selected from hundreds of participants. We were honored to have Michelle Jerono represent our school on this platform, where she engaged in thought-provoking discussions and upheld the Lasallian spirit of excellence.
🐑 Alpaca Balancing Challenge – A Fun and Competitive Twist
This year, Taji Kayla and Davis Kaggia took part in the Alpaca Balancing Challenge, a lighthearted yet skillful segment of the competition. They demonstrated great focus and agility, securing 2nd and 5th place, respectively. We celebrate their determination and ability to embrace both the academic and fun aspects of WSC!
